Projects & Commentaries
In this section, I will share my photographic experience in dealing with technical and artistic issues. I will also post photographs and comments for my new project "52 weeks in 2012" where I will publish a picture every week throughout the year. There will be no set theme or story behind those pictures, only one picture that somehow represents the week it was published in.
Enjoy it!

ABOUT ME
18/12/11
Many years ago, I became interested in photography when I obtained on loan a Nikon F Photomic and a Rolleiflex, thus starting to feel the thrill of composing and shooting my first images. Those were of course film camera that were characterised by a very high level of manual control, which I still very frequently employ in the digital age.
After a few weeks, I purchased my first enlarger, a 6x6 Durst M600, through which I tried my hand at printing in black & white. What an experience seeing my picture forming and coming to life in the dim red light of my darkroom. Well, ok, I should say my parent's bathroom, which I commandeered for hours on end and much to the chagrin of my family.
My very first own camera was a Leica M6, a great, sturdy, obviously manual-focus camera with which I refined the composition of a photo. After all, there were no automatisms, so one really had to take their time to study a scene and compose it with care.
Nowadays, after a hiatus of more than 20 years, I have embraced the digital photography with great enthusiam. I somehow find digital photography more rewarding than film photography. In my opinion, processing in a "lightroom" provides much more freedom and creativity than the traditional development of films and subsequent printing in a darkroom (I am sure that Ansel Adams and other great photographers will beg to differ and probably quite rightly so!).
